Merlin Jacob

Merlin Jacob is a Senior in the University of Houston, pursuing her Bachelors in Biology and minoring in Medicine and Society. She is actively involved in various organizations on campus such as Fellowship of Tier One Scholars, Active Minds, and AMWA. She hopes to follow her passion for global healthcare through medical school and got an opportunity to volunteer in mobile clinics in Haiti recently. She found AMWA to be an opportunity for pre-medical students to build a close knit community where we can focus on academia and discuss various medical related issues. As she takes on the role of Premedical Student Director, she hopes to share her experience in building a new chapter and establishing relationships among sister chapters within Region 7
