Meaghan Martinez-Palmer
Premedical Student Division Region 6 Director
Meaghan Martinez-Palmer is a member of the University of Notre Dame class of 2015, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science with the intent to attend medical school upon graduation. Prior to college, Meaghan was born and raised in Chimayo, New Mexico, a small village about 35 miles north of Santa Fe. As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) Ambassador to the College of Science, Meaghan works to aid underclassmen transition into collegiate level science courses, and increase the retention rate of those pursuing a science degree. Outside of classwork, Meaghan is involved in various clubs and organizations including the cycling team, Hispanic Engineers & Scientists, and the American Red Cross. As a volunteer at a local nursing home, Meaghan appreciates being able to spend time working with Alzheimer’s patients.
Meaghan enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and is slowly learning how to snowboard.
As a hispanic female, the importance of minority representation inspired Meaghan to work with the AMWA, knowing the invaluable resource it provides to women throughout the healthcare field.
