Julie Luu is currently a junior undergraduate student at Texas Tech University majoring in Biology with a Chemistry minor. On campus, she serves as the Community and Events Advisor for the American Medical Women’s Association and V.P of Public Relations for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has also been recently selected for Mortar Board.As one of AMWA’s co-founders at Texas Tech, Julie organizes volunteering events and mentoring programs for the pre-med students of her chapter. Aside from school, Julie volunteers her time at Lubbock Impact, a free clinic for uninsured members of her community. She also coordinates and works with MOSAIC, a nonprofit organization supporting intellectually disabled people in the Lubbock area. In addition, Julie likes helping other students and participates in other community service events.Julie will apply for medical school in May 2015, and she aspires to be a surgeon in the future. As one of AMWA’s pre-med regional directors, Julie will strengthen AMWA chapters in her region by communicating them with each other and with nationals. She is proud to be part of AMWA, and will work towards building a stronger undergraduate division.
