Shawna Watson is a 4th year medical student of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine’s Class of 2016 in Boca Raton, Florida. She was born and raised in Destin, Florida. She obtained her Bachelor of Health Science, Cum Laude, with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2011. Shawna has been involved with AMWA since her first year of medical school, starting as her branch historian and becoming involved in the South Florida AMWA chapter. Since then, she has been elected as the 2014-2015 AMWA Student Program Chair and become involved in the AMWA Website Committee and Mentorship Task Force. She is blessed to be a part of AMWA because of the relationships and opportunities it has fostered over the years for thousands of women nationwide.

Shawna is excited to be re-elected to her position in order to continue her visions of developing various programs of AMWA. These include establishing and expanding the online databases for Mentorship and Bed & Breakfast programs, which will help to nurture relationships between AMWA women of all levels and locations and allow easier access to networking and communication. She is also passionate about developing guidelines for successful educational programs via the Branch Programming Handbook.
