Lauren Carlozzi

Student Division External Relations Chair

Lauren Carlozzi is currently in the Class of 2017 at Northeast Ohio Medical University as a second year medical student. Out of high school she entered a combined BS/MD program with Youngstown State University, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2012. Before starting medical school, she pursued her community outreach passions by completing her Masters of Public Health degree.As the local AMWA Vice President, Lauren has been able to bring an official AMWA national chapter to her school. She founded the First Annual Summer Opportunity Symposium, which brought together first through third year students for an evening of presentations. This event allowed upperclassmen to display their research and clinical experiences and mentor others wishing to pursue such experiences. In conjunction with the symposium, she established The Women in Leadership Scholarship fund and currently sits on its executive decision making board.

She also has involvement in University and Student Curriculum Councils, Student Ambassador and Peer Advisor Programs, Pediatric Action Club President, and representation in NEOMED’s FitClub.

When not in the library, you can find Lauren trying out new coffeehouses, furthering her yoga practice, or finding a new approach to the art of healthy dessert making.
