Kaitlyn Mayer
Student Division Secretary
Kaitlyn Mayer is a member of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) Class of 2016. She graduated cum laude, receiving her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Anthropology from New York University in 2007. Upon graduation she joined Teach for America and taught at an elementary school in Brooklyn while earning her Master’s of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education.
As a former teacher, Kaitlyn plans to incorporate education and teaching into her medical career whenever and however possible and has served on her institution’s Student Curriculum Committee for the past three years. Kaitlyn is passionate about women’s health and reproductive choice and plans to pursue a residency in OB/GYN. She served as Co-President of AMWA at RWJMS and is also the founder of Medical Students for Choice at her institution. Kaitlyn is an Officer in the United States Navy and is excited to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to the women who bravely and selflessly serve our country.
This past year, Kaitlyn has had the immense fortune and privilege to serve as the AMWA Student Division Awards Chair by providing funding, scholarships, and awards to the many deserving and inspiring students and branches in the AMWA community.
