Caitlin Royse

Student Division Region 8 Director

Caitlin Royse is a member of the class of 2018 at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. She grew up in a rural and medically underserved town in far northeast California, where she developed a passion for addressing disparities in health care and overcoming the obstacles uniquely faced by women. Caitlin graduated from UC San Diego in 2012 with a BS in Human Biology and a minor in Health Care and Social Issues. She has spent time serving impoverished communities in Costa Rica and plans to continue her commitment to global health while in medical school. She is also involved in S.H.O.W, an interprofessional student-run clinic for the homeless population of Phoenix.

Caitlin is currently the President of University of Arizona COM-Phoenix’s AMWA Chapter. She has been inspired by the women in her life that have mentored her and is looking forward to fostering a culture of support, empowerment, and growth for women in medicine.

In her free time, Caitlin enjoys staying active by running, hiking, and practicing yoga. She is also an avid animal lover, and jumps at any opportunity to play with her dog, Jax.
