Sukaina B. Alikhan

Sukaina B. Alikhan is a fourth-year medical student at American University of Antigua College of Medicine pursuing an MD. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. After graduating from Rutgers, Sukaina worked for a year as a Global Citizen fellow for the U.S Fund for UNICEF. Sukaina was one of the three 2018-2020 Anne C. Carter Global Health Fellows and she also served as the AMWA Global Health Chair from 2019-2020. Sukaina has volunteered abroad in four countries and is passionate about learning the disparities in access to healthcare in developing countries and how the effects of culture, religion and politics can ultimately treat a disease. Particularly, she has a strong interest in critical care. In her free time, Sukaina enjoys baking, traveling, and reading Urdu poems.
