Anna Huguenard

Student Division Region 4 Director

I am an Emory University medical student, currently completing a research year between my M3 and M4 years in a neurosurgery research lab. I am originally from Indiana, and attended Indiana University for college as a Cox Research Scholar.

My interest in a male-dominated field has encouraged me to seek out female mentors in medicine, and to be involved with powerful communities like AMWA.  While the Emory branch is new, it has grown under my presidency with development of a widespread mentoring program, research nights to connect students with faculty advisors concerned with women’s health and advocacy, and volunteering events to give back to our Atlanta home. I am eager and inspired to attend this year’s National Conference, where so many successful women serve as role models to the next generation of physicians. I hope to spread awareness of AMWA and the benefit of membership beyond the institution of Emory through leadership with the national group.

Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, running with my dog, and will be completing my second charity full marathon to raise funds for a local animal shelter!
