Resident Division

Nandini Nittur, MD

Conference Co-Chair

Nandini Nittur , MD is an OB/GYN resident at UC Davis, who hopes to pursue a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine, and has a special interest in underserved populations. She has been dedicated to women’s health and advocacy since she was an undergraduate at UC Davis, when she was part of a four-person undergraduate team to win a grant to provide women’s health services to a rural farm-workers clinic. In medical school, she started the chapter of Medical Students for Choice, a national organization dedicated to enhancing contraception and abortion teaching for medical students. Throughout medical school, she was also actively involved in both an urban and rural student run clinic, working under her pediatric-adolescent gynecology mentor, providing routine screening and counseling services to the women of central Florida. As a medical student in central Florida, she was able to see, firsthand, the inequities and stigmas associated with accessing reproductive services, and as such, was passionate about advocating and implementing a more robust family planning curriculum into her second year medical school curriculum. As a resident, she is currently working to integrate several student run clinics serving various vulnerable populations throughout Sacramento into her program, and introduce more community health advocacy into her residency training. She is also involved in ACOG and SMFM. She is new to AMWA this year, and through this leadership position, hopes to meet, learn from, and collaborate with other specialties.
