Resident Division

Monique Mun, MD

Monique Mun, M.D. is a psychiatry resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Originally from California, she completed her undergraduate at UCLA and graduated magna cum laude. She took the plunge and traded sunny California for snowy winters to attend Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Her involvement in AMWA started in medical school, where she was vice-president of the AMWA branch at her medical school. She worked to increase networking opportunities for medical students by recruiting more physicians and medical students, connected medical students to physicians for shadowing opportunities in various specialties, and helped organize events that allowed for more networking opportunities for medical students (i.e. panel of female physicians, annual AMWA gala, tea and talk with a physician). She is also on the board of editors for Literary AMWA, a quarterly online publication that publishes writing pieces from physicians and medical students sharing their experience and perspective as a female in medicine. Through AMWA, she hopes to encourage leadership, scholarship, and mentorship among women in medicine.
