Rysavy~MaryMary Rysavy, MD, is a second-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  She is originally from Dubuque, Iowa, attended Saint Louis University and spent two years as a high school chemistry teacher in Inharrime, Mozambique before attending medical school at the University of Iowa. She continues to work with child and women’s health projects in Mozambique through Friends of Inharrime, an NGO that Mary founded with her husband, Matt. She will serve as the global health chair of the AMWA resident division for the second year in 2014-2015.  She is passionate about improving the health of women locally and globally as an ob/gyn, and appreciates the AMWA organization as a way to bring together motivated women physicians to improve the health of women worldwide.
