Dana Shuaibi

Premedical President-Elect

Dana Shuaibi (she/her) is an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying Interdisciplinary Health Sciences with a Health Diversity Concentration and pursuing a minor in Chemistry. She is currently a Research Assistant at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago working on several different clinical projects. Dana is also a Chemistry Tutor and Physics Lab Learning Assistant at her university and the co-founder and vice president of Positive Pre-Meds, a mental health advocacy student organization for pre-health students. She is very passionate about mental healthcare, women’s equity in medicine, and public health initiatives.

Dana has been a part of AMWA since her freshman year of college when she joined the UIUC AMWA Branch. Dana was previously the Premedical Division Region 7 Director, the Premedical Division Awards Chair, a Premedical Division intern, and an intern for the AMWA Physicians Against the Trafficking of Humans Initiative. She also currrently serves on the Gender Equity Task Force and the Sex & Gender Health Collaborative of AMWA. Dana is very thankful to be a part of the AMWA community and to have met so many amazing women and mentors to guide her on her premedical journey!
