Premedical Division Region 9 Director
Pamela George is currently a second year at UC Berkeley pursuing a major in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Bioengineering. From National City, CA, she is a proud first generation, multiracial and female undergraduate student. Graduating from Sweetwater Union High School as salutatorian, she has taken care of geriatric patients as a student medical assistant at Fredericka Manor, a local retirement home, and has also served as Vice President at her high school’s HOSA chapter. After graduation, she plans to join the Peace Corps for a gap year and then return to the USA for medical school to become a pediatrician. She hopes her unique background will provide insights to improve medical services in underserved communities and also initiate dialogue about the hardships of entering the medical field as a female, person of color, first generation, and any other obstacle. She is very excited at the opportunities AMWA has presented her, and encourages everyone to be brave in the anticipation of obstacles ahead to follow their passions!
