Premedical Division Region 5 Director
Aashna Mehta is a graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, with an undergraduate degree in Public Health with Honors. She has been an active member in AMWA since Fall 2015. She has actively served as the mental health committee head and Internal Vice President for her local chapter. Aashna attended the national conference in San Francisco and Philadelphia and has been involved in national AMWA through the premedical conference committee. She also assisted Dr. Chin with personal projects for the MWIA. She aims to be a part of AMWA throughout her life and hopes to eventually become a pediatrician. Besides AMWA, Aashna worked to serve her local community through working with underserved families as a Clinical Navigator at the Children’s Hospital Oakland and leading general chemistry discussions at the local Berkeley City College. She also wrote an honors thesis to use navigational Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (nTMS) to presurgically map the motor cortex for children facing epilepsy. Aashna currently works as a Special Education Paraprofessional while continuing to volunteer at the Children’s Hospital Oakland during her gap year.
