Eliana Jolkovsky

Premedical Division Region 3 Director

Eliana Jolkovsky is a post-baccalaureate pre-medical student at the University of Pennsylvania. She received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2017 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she worked as a research assistant studying autosomal-dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. After moving to Philadelphia, she joined the UPenn AMWA chapter (Penn Future Women in Health), which has over 80 active members. She served as the chapter’s Education Chair–a position created for her after she implemented a tutoring program within the chapter (www.pfwhtutoringsociety.org). Eliana was elected as president of UPenn AMWA the following year and enjoyed planning events for the chapter. As president, she booked distinguished speakers, created volunteering opportunities, and organized panels of physicians and medical students. She was honored to plan and host the 2020 AMWA Pre-Medical Region 3 Conference alongside an amazing team. Eliana, who is passionate about global outreach and working with underserved populations, has participated in medical clinics in impoverished communities in Riobamba, Ecuador, and Lima, Peru. Eliana enjoys the great outdoors and worked as a wilderness EMT in the Rocky Mountains. She is currently participating in clinical research at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research aims to obtain quantitative pupillometry data from acutely intoxicated patients in the emergency department setting and use it to improve the rapid assessment of opioid overdose patients. Eliana is dedicated to fulfilling and spreading the AMWA mission and is excited to continue to be closely involved with AMWA in the future.
