Alexandra Alondra Alvarez

Premedical Immediate Past President

Alexandra Alondra Alvarez served as the Premedical Division’s 2020-2021 President. At UC Berkeley, Alexandra Alondra Alvarez completed a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis on Cell and Developmental Biology and minoring in Toxicology. She graduated in May 2020 and she was involved in AMWA by being an active member of the Cancer and Women’s Health committee in her branch, joining the AMWA 103rd Annual Conference Pre-Medical Planning Committee, being the UC Berkeley AMWA branch Public Relations as well as the past National External Relations Chair and National President. Apart from AMWA, Alexandra is passionate about women’s health and runs a nonprofit called Generation Flow. (previously known as Ladies for Change) that aims to raise awareness on the lack of hygienic menstrual products for women in need everywhere. She also worked in physiology research under Diana Bautista, studying the mechanisms behind touch, pain, and itch. She has really loved seeing AMWA’s mission brought to life through its members and everyone she comes across. She loves seeing how students gain the support and resources they need to pursue their passion.
