AMWA Physician Recruitment Form

Work with your branch members to recruit physicians to AMWA! Your branch will receive $25 per physician recruited! Recruited physicians must include your branch name in the referral line during registration. A minimum of 4 physicians must be recruited for your branch to request funds. Use the form below for your submissions! After doing so, please apply to the Physician Recruitment Branch Award (under Branch Awards down below) which will be awarded to the branch that recruited the most physicians!

AMWA MCAT Scholarship

AMWA is offering three scholarships to cover the complete cost of MCAT registration ($325 each). AMWA is well aware of the very expensive costs associated with registering and preparing for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). As this year continues to be rife with hardship for so many Americans, we believe that the cost of the MCAT exam should not be an added obstacle that premedical students must overcome to realize their career goals. The MCAT Scholarship will be awarded to a low-income and URM student.

AMWA Conference Fee Waiver

Applicants MUST be current National Premedical AMWA members and NOT already register for the 2024 Annual Meeting.

This waiver will provide free registration to the AMWA 2024 National Meeting. To qualify, you must be a National AMWA member. For more information about the National Meeting, visit https://www.amwa-doc.org/future-amwa-meetings/ .

Premedical Membership Fee Waivers

We know that the cost of joining professional organizations and applying to medical schools can add up. In an effort to be more inclusive and break down barriers to pursuing medicine and membership in organizations such as AMWA, we are excited to announce that the National Premedical Division will be awarding scholarships to waive the cost of national membership in AMWA.  Awardees will be chosen based on need as well as the embodiment of the goals of AMWA.

Throughout our 108-year history, AMWA has been dedicated to a dual mission: advancing women in medicine and promoting women’s health. AMWA continues to encourage the promising young medical professionals of tomorrow through our many awards, grants, and scholarship programs. We are proud to use our resources to make a difference in the lives of women every day by providing grants to AMWA student branches, supporting physicians-in-training overseas, and rewarding students for outstanding service and merit.

We invite you to become a part of this movement.  We are confident that the strength of our collective voice will be heard as we advocate for gender parity for women in medicine.

Premedical Membership Fee Discount

AMWA understands that the cost of joining professional organizations such as AMWA can be a burden when taking into consideration the cost of applying to medical school and other expenses. In an effort to be more inclusive and break down financial barriers, AMWA has created a need-based fee reduction waiver for students interested in joining AMWA. This is not a complete fee waiver, but rather a discount for the usual membership fee. Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen on a rolling basis until January 31st, 2024 11:59pm PT based on extenuating financial circumstances and personal embodiment of AMWA’s goals. This is not a complete fee waiver, but rather a 30% discount on our usual membership fee.

Medical School Application Scholarship

AMWA understands that medical school application fees can constitute a significant financial burden on students, and as a result may deter them from applying to certain medical programs. In an effort to relieve students of the financial burden that medical school applications may cause, the Premedical Division of AMWA is offering a Medical School Application Scholarship. Please note that this scholarship may only fund 1-2 schools, not your entire medical school application.

Eliza Lo Chin Scholarship (For National Leaders)

Premedical Education Scholarship

AMWA understands that your journey in medicine begins before medical school and that this journey can be expensive. Supporting your career path and ensuring your success is important to us which is why we are offering 2 (two) $250 scholarships to women currently enrolled in undergraduate or post-baccalaureate pre-medical coursework who intend to pursue medical school. Awardees will be chosen based on the embodiment of the goals of AMWA. Financial need, though not a requirement, is also considered.

Please note that the applicant must have someone fill out the letter of recommendation form, which is included in application.
