Pre-Medical Student Presentations:

Are you a working in a research lab, involved in an outside organization that helped you as a pre-medical student, or participating in advocacy work? Tell us about your experience! This is a great opportunity for you to share your personal involvement with other AMWA members from across the country.
Submission categories include but are not limited to: Clinical care – best practices, Clinical care – case study, Research – human subjects (clinical), Research – bench, advocacy, etc.

Applications for Branch Presentations Open Now!

Pre-Medical Branch Presentations
Branch Presentations applications for pre-medical students are open now! These presentations are designed for student(s) to share their branch activity with other conference attendees. Whether you are just starting as a branch or have been approved for a long time, please share your chapter ideas and current activity.

Topics include but are not limited to: mentoring initiatives, monthly activities, charity involvement, fundraising events, etc.

IMPORTANT! For the Branch Presentations, presentations will be required to be presented in a digital format. Your presentation will be a PowerPoint file consisting of approximately 5 slides. You must be available to present during your assigned time in order to be eligible. You will be assigned a 10-minute time slot to present (approximately 6 – 7 minutes for your presentation & 2 – 3 minutes for questions). Another email regarding timeslots and further instructions will be sent out to those who are accepted at a later time.

Submission Guidelines:
*Limit of two presenters per presentation
*All branch member names/presenters should be listed.
*Submitting author must be available to present at the conference
*Provide a 400-word description of the presentation.
*Changes to your submission will not be accepted
*Formatting: at least text size 24

Pre-Medical Branch and Student Awards

AMWA Conference Fee Waiver: Please find here the application form for the 2021 conference fee waiver.

Applicants MUST be current National Premedical AMWA members and NOT already registered for the 2021 AMWA LEADS National Virtual Meeting.

This scholarship will provide free registration to the 2021 AMWA LEADS National Virtual Meeting (March 25th-28th) for 18 selected applicants. To qualify, you must be a National AMWA member. For more information about the National Meeting, visit https://www.amwa-doc.org/amwaleads2021/. You will be notified by January 15th if you are selected as a scholarship recipient.

This application is due by December 31st, 2020 at 11:59 PM PT. Please direct all questions to awards@amwa-premed.org.

Virtual exhibits will be launched 4 weeks prior to the meeting and will remain on the virtual meeting page after the meeting. Each exhibit will include:

  • A short video or graphic
  • Up to 3 links to program or product information
  • Scheduled optional opportunities to present to meeting attendees (exhibitors to use their own zoom accounts)
    • Thursday 2pm-4pm
    • Friday 11am-12pm, 5pm-6pm
    • Saturday 10:30am-11:30am, 5pm-6pm
