Networking Alliance

AMWA’s Networking Alliance was founded in 2010 to bring together professional medical associations for collaboration and sharing of resources.  The group has continued to meet every 1-2 years to foster collaboration among healthcare organizations for the advancement of women in medicine and women’s health.  To get involved, please e-mail ExecutiveDirector@amwa-doc.org.

AMWA’s Third Networking Alliance Meeting was held on March 15, 2014 during AMWA’s 99th Anniversary Meeting in Washington, DC. Leaders from the American Medical Association (AMA), American Medical Student’s Association (AMSA), Health Professional Education, Advocacy, Linkage (HEAL), Indiana University National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health, Medical Women’s International Association, National Physicians Alliance, Physicians for Reproductive Health, Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), Women in Medicine, and Women’s Dermatologic Society joined with AMWA representatives to discuss issues regarding the patient-provider relationship, sex and gender-specific medicine, human sex trafficking, gender equity in medicine, and gun control.

AMWA’s Networking Alliance was founded in 2010 by then-President, Dr. Eliza Lo Chin.  The first meeting was held at AMWA’s 95th Anniversary Meeting.
