Vanessa al Rashida

Dr. Vanessa al Rashida has been a member of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) since 2011.  She has the honor of serving as the Resident Chair of the Racial and Ethnic Diversity Subcommittee of the AMWA Diversity and Inclusion Section.  She has served as Secretary of the AMWA Resident Division from 2014-2015 and is the current Treasurer of the AMWA Resident Division.  She also currently serves as a member of the AMA RFS Committee of Public Health.  Dr. al Rashida graduated with both her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Medical Degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City School of Medicine Six-Year B.A./M.D. program in May 2014.  She received her Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago in December 2015.  She is currently an internal medicine resident at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.  As a chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Section, her goal is to provide medical education and create resources that will help improve health equality and health disparities on the local and national levels through collaboration with other AMWA committees and non-AMWA organizations.
