The first US Sex and Gender Educational Education Summit was held October 18-19 2015 at Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota. (www.sgbmeducationsummit.com) The summit welcomed representatives from 110 US and international medical schools and 20 medical student and faculty professional organizations.
On the heels of this educational event the Journal of Biology of Sex Differences has agreed publish a themed supplement focusing on the integration of sex and gender into medical education.

We are pleased to announce an open call for articles on “Sex- and Gender-Based Medical Education” to be published as a Supplement in Biology of Sex Differences. Some manuscripts already received are an outgrowth of the recent Sex and Gender Medical Education Summit, held on October 18-19 2015 at the Mayo Clinic, which was aimed at generating evidence and discussion of the methods for integrating this topic into curricula for medical and health professions. Submitted manuscripts should report evidence-based research relevant to this topic. Articles may be of several types (Research, Reviews, Commentaries, etc.) as described on the journal website. |
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 1 March, 2016. Please submit your manuscript by emailing our submission inbox and indicate in your covering letter that you would like to be considered for the “Sex- and Gender-Based Medical Education” Supplement.
