The Sex and Gender Health Collaborative (SGHC) of AMWA has Exciting News!

The Laura Bush Institute for Women’s Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has created a Certificate of Completion for their Sex and Gender Specific Health (SGSH) Course. The learning modules cover vital information for students, teachers, and educators regarding sex and gender differences in 5 conditions/diseases:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Alcohol Use Disorder
  • Infectious Disease. (scheduled for completion February 2019)

Though formal CME credits are not yet available, the Certificate of Completion will serve to document the learner’s extensive knowledge about sex and gender based health (SGBH) in these areas. Through the partnership between the Sex and Gender Health Collaborative (SGHC) and the Laura Bush Institute, completion of these learning modules and a simple request form will qualify a physician to be listed in the National Sex and Gender Based Medicine (SGBM) Physician Registry, located on the AMWA website.

The Registry will be available to the public as they seek out healthcare providers trained in sex and gender health. If the learner is a student or resident, they are invited to join the affiliate program.

We invite all interested physicians, providers, interprofessional providers, students, and residents interested in SGBM to visit our website, and social media Facebook, and Twitter sites.

The SGHC would like to thank the Laura Bush Institute for their continued support and collaboration with our efforts to improve personalized healthcare for women and men.
