We are using telemedicine more during the pandemic and will likely continue to do so once the pandemic starts to resolve. However, the digital divide is exacerbating healthcare disparities, as not everyone has adequate access to broadband internet. This is especially an issue for women, who frequently receive their peripartum and mental health care via telemedicine. In addition, with children out of school during the pandemic, women were less likely to be able to travel to healthcare appointments, as they needed to stay home with their children.
