AMWA will host our next virtual gathering on Saturday, August 29 at 5:30 PM ET. We will be discussing two articles: “Black Maternal and Infant Health: Historical Legacies of Slavery” and “Why America’s Black Mothers and Babies Are in a Life-or-Death Crisis.” Physicians, medical students, and premedical students are welcome and strongly encouraged to join us to continue these vital conversations. Even if you are unable to join us at the scheduled time, we strongly encourage you to read the articles. We recognize that racism is a public health crisis and have made a commitment as an organization to recognize and speak out against racism in all of its forms. The first step in this process is to learn.
