Participate in Women in Medicine Study Conducted by AMWA Student Member!

Greetings!

I hope this finds you well! My name is Laura Woods, and I am an AMWA member and a graduate student at the Brown University School of Public Health. I am interviewing female physicians (MD’s and DO’s) on how they chose their specialties, how gender may have played a role in this decision, and generally what the experience is like being a woman in modern medicine.

The interview takes about 20 minutes. There is also a two-minute survey at the end. I am happy to call you at your convenience. To thank you for your time, the Brown School of Public Health will mail you a copy of the novel “We Should All Be Feminists” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a sticker that says “This is Public Health,” and a magnet that says “Women Make Policy, Not Coffee,” which represents how you are supporting feminism, public health, and health policy for female physicians.

If you are interested or have any questions or concerns about the study, feel free to reach out to me using any of my contact information below. I will be sure to get you set up with an appointment that works around your schedule.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Best,

Laura Woods, MPH (’18), BS
