Mr. Noel Hazanow was a geologist who traveled the world. He was born in Japan to Russian refugee parents and he worked in Venezuela, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Burma, Nigeria and the United States. He spent the last few years of his life in California. In a letter to family and friends, daughter Dr. Sandy Hazanow wrote, “my mother and I would prefer donations to be directed to the American Medical Women’s Association, the organization headed by my father’s physician, Dr. Eliza Chin. Dr. Chin went far beyond her professional role to help my family during my father’s illness and we are eternally grateful.” Nearly $2500 has been donated to the American Women’s Hospitals Service (AWHS) in Mr. Hazanow’s name.
