First U.S. HPV Prevention Week a Resounding Success

The first U.S. HPV Prevention Week was a resounding success and will be the first of many activities addressing cervical cancer in 2019.

Events included a one-week series of webinars, social media campaigns, local events on college and medical school campuses, press releases, media interviews, and more to promote awareness about HPV and HPV-related diseases.  The week culminated in participation at the Raw Science Film Festival where AMWA and the Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer presented the Lady Ganga film to share the message of prevention and screening.

HPV Prevention Week: Us vs. HPV was organized by the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer (GIAHC), and  Indiana University (IU), with support from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Planned Parenthood Federation, Medical Women’s International Association, National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, American Head & Neck Society (AHNS), American Sexual Health Association (ASHA), Encell Technology, Head & Neck Cancer Alliance, Head and Neck Institute at Temple University, Indiana University, ION, National HPV Vaccination Roundtable, Veriscomm, American Head & Neck Society (AHNS), American Sexual Health Association (ASHA), National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), Veriscomm, and YTH: Youth + Tech + Health.
