At Home and Over There: American Women Physicians in World War I

The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and Raw Science Foundation are producing a new short documentary, At Home and Over There: American Women Physicians in World War I, which tells the little known story about women physicians and their important contributions to the war effort.

This story is one of courage, patriotism, and service — and one in which AMWA is proud to have played a vital role through the American Women’s Hospitals Service (AWHS). In the words of Dr. Esther Pohl Lovejoy, “The women of the medical profession were not called to the colors, but they went anyway.”

We welcome support for the film as well as ongoing work of the American Women’s Hospitals Service (AWHS), which continues 100 years later, to provide medical relief to communities worldwide, including the recent hurricane efforts.

Donations of any amount are appreciated and those above $500 will be recognized in the film credits. All donations are tax deductible and will support both the film’s production and AWHS.

Please donate by September 30 to be included in the film credits.
