Dr. Mary Rorro, Chair of AMWA’s Humanities Committee, was honored to attend the first White House Reception honoring Italian American Heritage Month, hosted by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. At the event, the First Lady spoke about her own family background when her Italian great grandparents came to America. She spoke of their hard work ethic and the values of loyalty, generosity, kindness, and faith that were passed down from generation to generation.
She spoke of her pride to be serving as the first Italian American First Lady.
