Dr Padmini Murthy, AMWA’s global health lead, was invited to serve as a core member of the working group Integrated Holistic Health: Mind, Body, and Environment, one of the 16 working groups of the which contributed to the outcome document on holistic health at the G20 Summit. The G20 Summit is held annually under the leadership of a rotating Presidency; this year, India assumed the Presidency of the G20. While formerly focused on broad macroeconomic issues, the G20 has since expanded its agenda to include trade, sustainable development, health, agriculture, energy, environment, climate change, and anti-corruption.
The C20 India 2023 is one of the official Engagement Groups of the G20 that provides a platform for Civil Society Organizations (CSO) around the world to voice the people’s aspirations to the world leaders at the G20.
Earlier this year, Dr Murthy was also an invited delegate to the C20 Summit in Jaipur, India held in July 2023, representing New York Medical College School of Health Sciences and Practice and the American Medical Women’s Association. She participated in a high-level panel on Holistic Health on July 31 and spoke on Gender and Mental Health.
