AMWA members Dr. Kimberly Chang and Dr. Eliza Chin were speakers at the January 28, 2017 launch of the Minority Women Physicians are MVP’s Conference Series which was founded by AMWA member, Dr. J. Nwando Olayiwola, world renowned physician leader, professor, author and change agent. This conference series is a nationwide women’s empowerment conference series to celebrate the achievements of MWP’s. The one day seminars focus on providing attendees the tools for success and showcasing endurance from prominent women of color or disadvantage. There are opportunities for mentorship, leadership training, and networking for minority women, both professionals and students. The inaugural conference was held in Oakland, California on January 29, 2017 with subsequent conferences planned in Pittsburgh, PA (March 25, 2017), New York, NY (April 2, 2017), Columbus, OH (April 22, 2017)
