Dr. Eliza Lo Chin, Dr. Suzanne Harrison, and Dr. Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber participated in the conference, Beyond the Pipeline: Interventions to Promote and Support Women and Minorities in Biomedical, Behavioral Science, and Engineering held at the Association of American Medical Colleges on April 28 – 29, 2017).
The event was organized by Dr. Phyllis Carr.
The conference focused on the need for continued research to better understand the barriers preventing the career advancement of women in academic medicine.
Speakers also included Dr. Janine Clayton, Dr. Darrell Kirch, Dr. Hannah Valentine, Dr. Amparo Villablanca, Dr. Karen Freund, Dr. Jessie Dearo, Dr. JA Grisso, Dr. Veronica Catanese, Dr. Deborah Helitzer, Dr. Hang Lee, Douglas Gould, and Dr. Stephanie Abbuhl. AMWA plans to support these efforts through ongoing collaboration with the research consortium.
