Host a Vision 2020 Toast to Tenacity, promote gender equality on social media, or attend a free luncheon in Philadelphia.
The 19th Amendment — Women’s Right to Vote — Turns 98 on August 26!
Join Vision 2020 in a nationwide toast honoring Women’s Equality Day and those who made this right a reality.
You can participate in several ways:
- Host a Vision 2020 Toast to Tenacity in your area. This event can be as big or small as you’d like to make it, whether it be at a local library or historical site with community leaders, at your office with coworkers during lunchtime, or in your living room with a group of friends. Use the Toast to Tenacity Toolkit to plan and promote your event.
- Show your support on social media. From anywhere at any time on Sunday, August 26, post a photo or video of yourself raising your glass to the suffragists and other women leaders in your life. What you toast with is up to you (coffee, juice, champagne, whatever!); the Vision 2020 team will be using grape juice just as suffragist Alice Paul did back in 1920. Just make sure you use the hashtag #ToastToTenacity to be part of the collective “cheers!” Use this social media guide to help spread the word.
- If you are in the Philadelphia area, celebrate early with us at a free luncheon on Thursday, August 23, near Independence Mall.
Cheers!
