AMWA Delegates to Attend the 32nd Congress of the Medical Women’s International Congress

As a member association of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA), AMWA will have 10 delegate seats at the upcoming 32nd Congress of MWIA. AMWA members and allies will remember 2019 when AMWA hosted the Centennial Congress of MWIA which was founded in 2019 under the leadership of AMWA Past President, Dr. Esther Pohl Lovejoy along with international leaders.

MWIA is one of the oldest professional international bodies and serves as an international organization of medical women and medical students from around the world, with representation from all six continents, eight regions, and over 35 member associations.

MWIA Congresses are held every 3 years, hosted by a different country each time. This year’s Congress is hosted by the Taiwan Medical Women’s Association and for the first time in the history of MWIA, the Congress will be hybrid. This is a great opportunity for members of AMWA to attend the Congress. There will be three General Assemblies, and the delegates from AMWA will  vote during each of these sessions.

AMWA Global Health Lead, Dr. Padmini Murthy, is the MWIA Secretary General. Candidates for the Executive Board of MWIA (2022-2025) include Dr. Connie Newman (candidate for Vice-President, North America) and Dr. Eliza Chin (candidate for treasurer).
