Reston, VA, September 8, 2014 — The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP) today announced an affiliate membership agreement, a new program of the AMWA to extend their support and reach to ACP members. Under this new membership model, ACP members can become AMWA Affiliate Members at no additional charge.

Building a network for women physicians and health care professionals will promote and support the advancement of our careers with a multitude of opportunities in education, mentoring, leadership and much more.” Farzanna S. “ACP is pleased to be the first organization to offer our members AMWA Affiliate Member status,” said David Fleming, MD, FACP, president, ACP. “This inaugural AMWA program will help to create a network of women physician leaders.”
Benefits of AMWA Affiliate Membership include access to AMWA publications, opportunities to gain national leadership experience on one of AMWA’s committees, networking, mentoring, and special discounts to AMWA local and national events. This new affiliate membership model will greatly expand AMWA’s network of leaders in medicine.
Both AMWA and ACP and will celebrate their 100th anniversaries in 2015.
