The 2019 Region 5 AMWA Conference held at University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine was a great success. The event focused on the promotion and advocacy of women in medicine and science. The 2-day event, with close to 100 individuals in attendance, included lectures and workshops by UAB faculty and guest speakers, and a scholarly poster session.
