Mentorship Committee – Fall Webinar

The Mentorship Committee is hosting a webinar on Mentorship Relationships in Medicine. This webinar will be on Thursday, November 15th and focus on mentorship relationships throughout our medical paths.

This webinar will be hosted by Dr. Abby Lyn Spencer, Director of the Internal Medicine Residency program at Cleveland Clinic and Vice Chair for Education of the Medicine Institute. Dr. Spencer is a primary care doctor who takes care of patients and teaches residents in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She plays an active role in curriculum development, program innovation, teaching, mentoring, cultivating her leadership team, and faculty development. She has brought several new innovations, committees, programs, and curricula to the Cleveland clinic IM residency program including a longitudinal curriculum to enhance resident emotional intelligence, transforming the program to a 4+1 structure, initiating a resident coaching program, and promoting the development of a handoffs curriculum, patient safety rotation, high value care conference, problem-based learning, and clinical reasoning conference.

Dr. Spencer is a mentor, coach, and advocate for trainees, junior faculty, and her peers. Additionally Dr. Spencer joined the core curriculum team of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring (CECM) and was trained in, and now serves as faculty for CECM.

This webinar will cover mentorship relationships throughout our medical paths.
