Finding and Forging Connections in Medicine: Advice with an MD/PhD Surgery Resident
May 25 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm EDT
Join us to talk about finding connections in research, residency, and surgery with Alyssa Brown, MD PhD. Through her experiences as an MD/PhD student, general surgery resident, and active member of AMWA, Alyssa has amassed some amazing experiences and advice to share about finding and using connections in medicine.
Alyssa Brown grew up in Chattanooga, TN and attended Centre College for a B.S. in Biology and minor in History. She graduated with an MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2022, as well as her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and Physiology at Mayo Clinic School of Biomedical Sciences in 2022. She is now a PGY-1 general surgery resident at Northwestern University in Chicago. She has been deeply involved with AMWA in the past through her work on the AMWA Physician Fertility Initiative, Social Media Team, and contributions to the annual conference. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys baking sweets and pastries that she saw on “Great British Bake-Off,” embroidering, or off on a new adventure.
