Facing Moral Distress in Medicine: Strategies to Address this Common Dilemma
with Rebekah Apple, MA, DHSc

REGISTER

In a 2022 article, published in the Journal of Health Psychology, more than one half of physicians were reported to experience moderate to high levels of moral distress. Moral distress arises when a physician is unable to take the action they know is right, due to constraints outside their control, from not feeling comfortable speaking up to feeling the need to compromise on clinical care.  This session will focus on how physicians can reconcile their preferred action with the actions available to them.  Participants will gain strategies to address such dilemmas in their professional environment so as to lessen the adverse impact on the career journey.
