AMWA to Co-Sponsor Diabetes Heart Connection Event in Sacramento

With Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease, (PFCD), AMWA is co-sponsoring the upcoming event, “Diabetes Heart Connection.” This complimentary luncheon and health screening will take place at the State Capitol in Sacramento on May 3.

This event, which raises awareness of diabetes and CVD co-occurrence, includes an educational forum and complimentary lunch followed by a health screening. PFCD Chairman Dr. Kenneth Thorpe and other speakers will discuss diabetes and CVD co-occurrence and the impact on the state budget and public health. The health screening fair will follow where we will serve heart healthy snacks and offer free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings.
