Bone and Joint Action Week
October 12, 2017 - October 20, 2017
8 days focused on raising awareness of bone and joint disorders.
Dr. Kim Templeton, AMWA immediate past president, developed and continues to run the bone health and osteoporosis program (Fit to a T), as well as developing the related video. She also started and is still somewhat involved with World Pediatric Bone and Joint Day.
World Osteoporosis Day – October 20
The 2017 theme is Love Your Bones: Protect Your Future! Promote worldwide awareness of fracture prevention and osteoporosis, and the heavy toll the disease can take on an individual’s future if left undiagnosed and untreated. To learn more, visit www.worldosteoporosisday.org.
The United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) offers Fit to a T, a public education program on bone health and osteoporosis designed to help Americans learn more about bone health, as well as the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis.

World Pediatric Bone and Joint (PB&J) Day – October 19
The 2017 theme is Kids, Bones, Joints & Obesity – Tips for Parents and Patients, and Primary Care Providers. Kids and teens suffering from obesity are at much higher risk of developing bone and joint problems. Parents, Children, Primary Care Providers – Pick up some tips on what to look for, and what action to take. To learn more visit World PB&J Day.
