May 1 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

May 1, 2024
8pm ET

The prevalence of sleep apnea today requires comprehensive patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. The American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) and the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) invite you to a webinar focused on the critical role of screening for obstructive sleep apnea. Learn how dentists and physicians can join forces to tackle this health concern in our communities.

Why Attend?
This webinar is not just about understanding sleep apnea but about breaking down the silos between dental and medical professionals to forge a unified front against this condition. By attending, you’ll not only enhance your knowledge and skills in managing sleep apnea but also learn how to leverage the strengths of both fields to provide superior patient care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding Sleep Apnea: Gain a foundational understanding of what sleep apnea is, its symptoms, and why it’s a concern in today’s health landscape.
  • Screening for Success: Learn essential tools and protocols for effectively screening your patients for sleep apnea.
  • Interprofessional Collaboration: Learn how to initiate, develop, and nurture collaborative relationships between dentists and physicians to provide a holistic care approach to managing sleep apnea.
  • Oral Appliance Therapy: Explore the benefits and applications of oral appliances as a viable treatment option for patients who have mild to moderate sleep apnea or are unable to use CPAP machines.
