GLORIA STEINEM REVITALIZES AMWA- Miami, Florida, 2012
The American Medical Women’s Association’s 97th Annual Meeting was a turning point in AMWA’s storied and illustrious history. It marked the restoring of stand-alone AMWA meetings after a decade long hiatus.
Held at the Sofitel Hotel in Miami, Florida, the 2012 meeting was a true celebration of women in medicine. The meeting was a grand success, both from the fiscal and from an attendance perspective, with international delegates, and a strong showing from AMWA’s student contingent. A key ingredient was the incredible Gloria Steinem, who not only gave the keynote speech at the gala, but danced until 4 AM with the medical students.
