Elizabeth Valencia, MD, JD, FCLM, past inaugural Enterprise Associate Dean of Diversity Equity and Inclusion for Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Arizona, Florida, Minnesota campuses. She is an expert in Breast Imaging & Intervention at Mayo Clinic, with MD/JD degrees from SIU Schools of Medicine & Law, and fellowship at University of Washington Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Dr. Valencia serves on Board of Governors for American College of Legal Medicine and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, serves as American Medical Association’s Minority Affairs Section-Chair of Engagement, Wellness Equity Leadership Scholar, National Hispanic Medical Association Leadership Scholar.

She was Health Policy Fellow for Governor of Illinois to Departments Health & Human Services, Public Health, Public Aid, Child & Family Services. Recipient of Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, Illinois Women’s Bar Foundation Service Award, City San Diego Delegate for U.S. Presidents’ Summit for America’s Future, City San Diego Volunteer of Year Award.

Dr. Valencia authored 2004 edition of American Medical Association’s Code of Medical Ethics, published in peer-reviewed journals, national speaker on health equity, breast cancer, law, medicine, bioethics, education, mentorship, and DEI. She is the daughter of migrant farmworkers and advocate for underrepresented communities, trainees, faculty, and staff.
