Stephanie Bonne, MD, FACS

Stephanie Bonne, MD, FACS is an assistant professor of surgery in the division of trauma and critical care surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. She completed her undergraduate education at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, followed my medical school at Rosalind Franklin University, surgical residency at the University of Illinois and fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis.

Clinically, Dr. Bonne cares for trauma patients or patients requiring emergency surgery and for critically ill patients in the surgical intensive care unit. Her research focus is on risk factors for violent injury and the mitigation of these risk factors through community and hospital based violence intervention and other programming. She participates in leadership and committee roles in a number of professional organizations, including the governing council of the Young Fellows Association of the American College of Surgeons, the Council of the Association for Women Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Association for Academic Surgery. Dr. Bonne also leads an advocacy initiative for gun violence prevention through the American Medical Women’s Association Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and the the American Public Health Association.
