Marjorie Jenkins, MD, MEdHP

Dr. Marjorie Jenkins serves as the Director of Medical Initiatives and Scientific Engagement at the FDA Office of Women’s Health. Dr. Jenkins also serves as a tenured Professor of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where she also serves as the Chief Scientific Officer for the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health. Dr Jenkins holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University, an M.D. from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University. Within FDA OWH Dr Jenkins provides expertise on women’s health and sex differences within research, professional education, regulatory and health policy activities. She has served nationally in a variety of positions, such as Program Chair for the 2018 National Sex and Gender Medical Education Summit, co-Chair of the Reproduction Workgroup of NASA’s Decadal Review of Sex and Gender Research, a member of the Women’s Health Writing Group of the NBME, and a member of HRSA and NIH expert panel advisories. Her expertise in academic health leadership includes navigating transformational change, interprofessional curricular development and career mentoring.
