Chemen Neal, MD, FACOG, FAMWA

Dr. Chemen Neal earned her bachelors in science from San Diego State University in San Diego California. She graduated medical school from the University Of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Indiana University. Dr. Neal worked in private practice in Indianapolis for three years immediately following residency. She is currently an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and has a full-time clinical practice at the IU Health Coleman Center for Women. She has developed clinical expertise in vulvar disease and chronic/recurrent vaginitis and is a member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease. She is also a registered diagnostic medical sonographer with expertise in gynecologic ultrasound. Further clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Neal completed a fellowship in faculty development through the Indiana University School of Medicine office of Faculty Affairs. As a fellow, she focused on programs for the advancement of women and people of color. She currently leads workshops that address the intrinsic skills related to retention of these groups in medicine. Since 2014, Dr. Neal has served on the Admissions Committee for the school of medicine and currently is the co-chair of the IUSM Diversity Council. At the national level, Dr. Neal served on the board of directors for the American Medical Women’s Association and is currently the physician chair of the mentorship task force for this organization. She also serves as a member of the mentorship task force for the Society for Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology (SASGOG).
