Helane Fronek MD, FACP, FACPh

helaneHelane Fronek MD, FACP, FACPh initially practiced internal medicine and has been a specialist in venous disorders since 1985. An integral part of the development of the specialty, she is past president of the American College of Phlebology, the largest medical organization devoted to vein care in the United States. Dr. Fronek was the first recipient of the College’s prestigious Leadership Award and is now Chair of its Leadership Development Committee. She is a respected speaker and educator in the areas of venous disease and communication in the medical arena. As Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UC-San Diego School of Medicine, she teaches communication, ethics, and professionalism.

In 2009, Helane began training as a Co-Active Coach and is certified as a Physician Development Coach by the Physician Coaching Institute. She has developed and offered workshops on work-life balance, delegation, resilience to physician burnout, writes regular columns on physician coaching for both Vein Magazine and San Diego Physician magazine and is passionate about helping her clients find greater enjoyment and balance in their lives.
