Mona Vishin Mangat, MD
Mona Vishin Mangat, MD, is an allergist-immunologist, solo practice, got involved in advocacy in 2009 because too many of her patients could not get access to the care they needed. She graduated from the 6-year combined BS/MD program at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1996 and completed an Internal Medicine / Pediatrics Residency at the University of Tennessee-Memphis / Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in 2000. Shen then completed an Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. She has been Doctors for America’s Florida state director, southeast regional director, board member, and most recently the chair of the Doctors for America board since 2014. She is a columnist for the Tampa Bay Times and has done extensive media interviews and public speaking on the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid expansion, allergy topics, and physician advocacy. Her husband, Gagandeep, is a radiologist. They have four children age 8 through 13 who all joined our Patients Over Politics Bus Tour in 2012 and have joined many press events and rallies since they were small.
